Nice copy, professionally rebacked (and usable thus, unlike copies with the original spine), with the usual edgewear. Contents very clean (zero foxing), single PO signature and small stamp on the front blank. Presented thus, a nice copy. 9 x 5.75", marbled blue paper with printed front cover label (surrounded by asterisks, (Gallup's state 1 of 3; no priority), 35pp. Last leaf unopened (leaving list of "previous publications" and rear pastedown conjoint as usual).

Bound in the publisher's blue marbled paper boards. A near fine copy, with some discoloration along the top edges, usual rubbing, wear to the corners, some spotting on the endpapers and a hint of spotting throughout, former owner's bookplate to front pastedown, red ownership stamp to front free endpaper, spine fragile and dimmed with some chipping, but unbroken. Unusual in this condition, especially with the paper spine intact, and overall an attractive copy. Gallup A6b, Woolmer 28. Original marbled blue paper boards, white paper title label to front board printed in black, edges untrimmed. Housed in a custom blue cloth solander box. Spine browned, slight wear to board edges, light foxing to book block edges and occasionally scattered to contents; single gathering unopened; a very good, bright, copy. First UK edition in book form, sole impression, one of about 460 copies hand-printed by the Woolfs, with the title label in the first state with asterisks (one of three states noted by Gallup, with no priority). The Waste Land was originally published in the first issue of The Criterion, the quarterly review which Eliot edited, in October 1922, and subsequently in book form in New York on 15 December 1922.
