We carry the largest selection of rare, signed, and manuscript Ayn Rand on the planet! Rand's first novel, We the Living Macmillan, New York, 1936. Hardcover. SIGNED/DATED by Rand in a beautiful Facsimile First Edition dust jacket. Astonished by the intellectual trends of America's "Red decade," immigrant Rand set out to uphold the American ideals of individualism and freedom. Rand resolved to expose the "noble ideals" of Communism through the story of three young people whose lives are sacrificed by an all-powerful state. Originally titled "Airtight," We the Living was not a commercial success. Eighteen months after its release, the novel was out of print. Rand's royalties from the first American edition amounted to $100! This volume contains Rand's original UNrevised text. Covers soiled; No writings or markings of any kind, save for previous owner's barely visible embossed name. Encased in a handsome red cloth clamshell box embossed with a red star like the jacket. A handsome addition to any Ayn… Read more
