Description:
New York: Simon and Schuster, 1959. First Edition. Fine/Fine. Signed review copy of the first edition, with publisher's review slip laid in. Signed by the author on the page bearing the publisher's logo, dubbed "The Sower," which depicts a man sewing seeds in mid-stride with one hand swung back. Bloch has augmented The Sower in a fantastically fitting manner--signing his name in a speech bubble and drawing a knife in the man's rear hand, complete with several drops of blood dripping from its blade. Bound in publisher's black paper-covered boards over white spine cloth stamped in red. Toning to pages and spine cloth and a bump at the crown, else Fine. In a Fine unclipped dust jacket with light foxing, trivial wear and two faint scratches to the spine panel. The book served as the basis for the 1960 Alfred Hitchcock film, featuring perhaps one of the best-known scenes in all of cinema, where Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) is stabbed to death in the shower.

Description:
First edition, first impression (Simon and Schuster, 1959). Adapted into the famous Alfred Hitchcock film in 1960. Quarter-bound in cream cloth with black boards. Toning to edges with a chip to fore-edge of opening page of Chapter One and small closed tear to fore-edge of pages 5-9. Free from previous owner names and inscriptions. The original and unclipped dust jacket is slightly smaller than the book, suggesting that it may have been trimmed; moderate rubbing and chipping in places with a tear to spine foot and to lower panel fore-edge, but still a very good copy overall.

Description:
London: Robert Hale, 1960. First English Edition. The basis of the superior Hollywood thriller, Psycho, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. The dust jacket of the American edition is a rather simple typographical design, whereas, what sets this British first edition apart is the surreal colorful jacket illustration with the purple-tinted profile of the brutally slashed victim, Mary Crane (memorably portrayed by Janet Leigh in the film), the hazy image of the spooky Bates house in the background, and the figure of the tormented murderer, Norman Bates (Anthony Perkin’s most recognized role), in the foreground. Near fine in a fine bright dust jacket with only a trace of wear, and a couple of tiny date numbers stamped on the front flap.
