Original blindstamped brown cloth with gilt designs and lettering on front boards and spine. Lively travel writing embellished with many engravings of landscapes, street scenes, eminent Mexicans, and even a bull-fighting scene and bull and bear-fighting scene. 518 pages + 4 pages of publisher's ads. Prefatory letter by William H. Seward. Lovely Aztec-themed owner bookplate on front pastedown. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
