Previous owner's inscription to front free end-paper. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Cloth has minor damp and dust stains. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is darkened. Unclipped jacket has heavy edge-wear with some areas of loss, heavy tears, chips and creasing. Insect damaged.

More prominent to text block edges, lighter to pastedowns and free endpapers. Light cracking and creasing to gutters; some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear to front board; visibly darkened to spine. Book has a slight forward lean.
