Following the text are 97 pages of handwritten time and cash accounts, kept by Engineer G.C. Northrop, giving day-by-day details of engine numbers, miles run, times, names of conductors and engineers/firemen, embarkation points and destinations. Also filled in is the section of cash accounts (dates, amounts owed and received, payees, etc.). Finally, several pages contain notes on railroad happenings in 1905-1906 (personnel hurt, killed, buried).

Portland: Printed by Day, Fraser & Co., 1831-[1833]. 2 vols. 8vo, original red cloth; volume 2 re-backed with original paper title label preserved. Vol. 1: 243, [1] p., [1] folding lithographic map; v. 2: 355, [1] p., 1 folding lithographic view, 1 engraved view, 2 folding lithographic maps. In a later cloth slipcase. Winslow Homer's copy of the first edition of Willis's History of Portland, with his ownership inscription in pencil on the front paste-down in each volume, reading " W. Homer Scarboro Me." Homer lived at Prout's Neck in Scarborough, just south of Portland,from 1883 to 1910. It was there that Homer painted his great seascapes and assumed his full stature as one of the towering figures in American art. REFERENCES: Williamson 10793. CONDITION: Vol. 1 worn and split at edges of spine, cloth discolored, internal front hinge cracked, occasional foxing; vol. 2 cloth discolored, front hinge split and largely separated from text-block, occasional foxing.
