London: T. Nelson, 1892. First UK edition. Gilt title block and ornate decoration in gilt and black with female painter figure to spine, gilt title with black embossed classical decoration and ruling to front, on brown bevelled cloth boards. Boards are very clean with only some minor faint marks with pictorials very bright. There is only very slight wear to spine head and tail. Internally there is an inscription 'From Matron' to front endpaper else very clean, tight and unmarked. Overall a Very Good and well kept copy. Portrait plates of each artist are tissue guarded. 348 pages and publisher's catalogue. The author is Sarah Knowles Bolton (1841-1916) formerly Sarah Elizabeth Knowles, an American and leader of the Temperance Crusade movement who wrote biographies and travelled to Europe. **** A SCARCE THOMAS NELSON EDITION **** 1.
