The last word in the book, 'God', has been inked out by the author, replaced by the word 'gold', the final phrase now reading Oil, Black Gold -- a phrase that had been used previously in the book. What a place for a typo. . Thinly disguised autobiography written as a novel describing the life that the well-to-do author lived and observed when she leaves Indianapolis, Indiana with her husband to be part of the oil rush in Oklahoma in the early part of the 20th century.
