Condition: Very Good

London - Macmillan and Co, 1925 Nice soft red leather binding with 10 plates! From Scott's Waverley Novels!Sir Walter Scott, 1st Baronet (14 August 1771 21 September 1832) was a prolific Scottish historical novelist and poet popular throughout Europe during his time. In some ways Scott was the first author to have a truly international career in his lifetime, with many contemporary readers all over Great Britain, Ireland, Europe, Australia, and North America. His novels and (to a lesser extent) his poetry are still read, but he is far less popular today than he was at the height of his fame. Nevertheless many of his works remain classics of English literature. Famous titles include Ivanhoe, Rob Roy, The Lady of the Lake, Waverley and The Heart of Midlothian. Condition: The binding is tight and firm and both covers are firmly attached. There is some wear to the extremities including some bumping to the corners and slight chips to the top and bottom of the spines. Internally the book is clean and bright throughout with no obvious marks. There is an ownership plate to the first blank end paper.. Hardcover. Very Good.
