A little scuffing and scratching to back cover. Coated card covers with a Zoar blanket design on the front cover, comb binding. Stated first printing. Binding is tight, pages are clean and unmarked. . Zoar was founded by a group of German separatists who fled persecution because of their belief in the separation of church and state. They left their native Würtemberg in 1817 and settled in Zoar, Ohio. The society survived until 1898, and the Zoar cabinet shop produced furniture for the entire time. All pieces described in this book came from this shop. Furniture described in this book include chairs, kas (wardrobes) , beds, chests, cupboards, tables and other items. 163 plates, each with a brief description of the piece and statement of its present location. . 4to 11" - 13" tall. 128 pages. D6 .
