A novel of the poor and displaced, begun by Olsen in 1932 when she was only 19 and "finished" much later from rescued manuscripts--by Olsen as a much older person. Near fine (a newspaper review was laid in between pages 98 and 99, creating a browning of those and a couple of additional pages next to it. The review is worthwhile reading, and is now safely wrapped in clean paper), in good dust jacket (thinned at the bottom of the spine, edgeworn top and bottom of spine, some sunning). Delightful inscription -- and signature -- in Olsens tiny writing: "Alice's Yonnondio . . . This gift from your grandmother--that marvellous being--love to you both . . . Tillie Olsen".
