About This Item
Philosophical Library, New York, 1979; 8vo, 343 pages; distributed by DaVorss & Co. First book by American mystic Annalee Skarin (1899-1988), a.k.a. Nansela Mathews, who believed it was possible to achieve bodily immortality by use of secret Christian principles. A devout Mormon, Skarin was nevertheless excommunicated for what was deemed her heretical theology, and later went missing. There is disagreement as to her final demise, some believing she successfully achieved the immortality she preached and others claiming she died of natural causes in 1988 in Corning, California. Very Good, in card wraps. Clean, crisp, bright, no ownership signatures or any other markings of any kind. Laid-in at the front is a 5" x 8" stiff card, press-printed both sides and dated 1979, containing a special message to the reader from Skarin, identifying herself as "The Messenger" and sending greetings "from the throne of God, with a mission to bring peace and love to all who desire it."
