NY: Frederick Stokes 1890 (1890). 4to (9 1/4 x 11"), cloth stamped in silver, pictorial paste-on, slight soil on rear cover else near Fine. Featuring 12 especially lovely color lithographed plates of high society women dressed to the nines. The colors almost look hand painted. There are also many black and white illustrations throughout the text by various artists. The contents are poems featuring women by notables of the era: Frederick Locker, Austin Dobson, Walter Learned. Although McVickar illustrated many books, little is known about him personally.
