About This Item

[c.1750]. Copper engraving. Original colour. Good margins, the lower left hand margin has a diagonal tear, with some loss on margin but there is 2 cm of margin left to edge of the plate mark; overall good condition. Size: 57 x 29 cm. Map of north eastern China and the island of Sakhalin, unusual both for its long shape, and its content. Decorative cartouche. Two scales. The map shows Amur River and its tributaries in detail. The island of Sakhalin is very inaccurately drawn.
