Clean bright dust jacket is unchipped, has two 1" closed edge tears near base of spine. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. The lynching of Cattle Kate (Ellen Watson) and Jim Averell by six politically powerful Wyoming cattlemen rocked the nation in July 1889. Newspapers proclaimed that Ellen Watson was a prostitute on horseback who bartered sex for calves, that Averell was her pimp, that both were rustlers, and that somehow they deserved to be hanged from a tree in Spring Creek Gulch of the Sweetwater Valley..
