Tokyo: Akane Shobo Publishing Company, 1965. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine. Beautiful Japanese edition of this classic from L'Engle, from her library though containing no ownership markings. Illustrated endpapers, several two-tone illustrations in front, along with a frontis. Additionally illustrated throughout in black and white. Publisher's red cloth boards show little wear, and there is an illustrated label on the front cover gilt, blue, and black lettering and decoration. Delicate braided bookmark bound in. Several pieces of publisher's advertising material and order forms are laid in. Original clear plastic dust cover is in two pieces. Publisher's stapled, paper slipcase shows some wear and soiling, but otherwise very good. A scarce edition.
Synopsis
A Wrinkle in Time is a science fantasy novel by Madeleine L'Engle, first published in 1962. The book won a Newbery Medal, Sequoyah Book Award, and Lewis Carroll Shelf Award, and was runner-up for the Hans Christian Andersen Award. It is the first in L'Engle's series of books about the Murry and O'Keefe families.

Great read for a kid, adult, or anyone who hasn't lost their sense of mystery and adventure. What if? What if time travel were as easy as L'Engle proposes? I still look for Mrs. Whatsit to point me in the right direction.
