Denver, Colorado. 1930. Folio (14 1/2 x 10 1/2). Stan Wright and Drew McGill formed their hook manufacturing company in the late 1920s. Early on, the phrase "They Hook and Hold" was trade marked and today the advertising slogan is still in use. This salesman’s sample from 1930 is an early example of the company’s products; it has seven colored leaves holding a large variety of hooks and hook styles, including O’Shaughnessey, Arrow Shaft, Down Eye, Long Shank, Ring Eye, Plain Shank, Extra, Extra Long Plain Shank, Wide Bend Baitholder, Down Eye, Up Eye, etc. Hooks were available in three finishes, Gold, Bronze, and Nickel. All hook samples are present, and there’s a total of 310 hooks in all. The sample book is bound in its original bright blue cloth with red titles and company’s eagle logo in blue over a white circle. A nice, early example by the premier hook manufacturer in the U. S. Light edge wear to the binding. Very good..
