Finely bound in original publishers delux full vellum binding with spine and front board fully decorated and lettered in gilt. Decorative endpapers. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. A fine copy of this beautiful edition.:

Two small patches of browning affecting the top outer corner of ten leaves, otherwise a very good copy in fine nineteenth century binding by Thomson of Exeter, with binders ticket on front paste down. Full tan calf, raised bands, compartments fully gilt. Red title label, gilt. Boards with double blind ruled and one gilt ruled borders. Marbled endpapers. School prize plate on front paste down shows that this copy was given as a prize in January 1842. Previous owners name(dated 1881) and ink name stamp on blank endpapers. Front hinge neatly repaired. Some minor rubbing to edges but generally a very good copy in an attractive nineteenth century binding.:

Inscribed by Gill on the front free endpaper "Eric Gill for H. Davis, 22.3.28" A very good copy in original grey canvas spine, lettered in black, with red paper covered boards with black lettering and illustration to the front board. Some loss to the paper on the boards, affecting 7 letters of the address at the bottom. Spine with just a little darkening. Overall a very good copy. Uncommon inscribed by Gill. --Evan Gill. Portland, Maine:: Rebecca Goodale,, 2014.. Edition of 15. 8.5 x 6.5" closed; 5 leaves. Screen printed on a Gocco printer, hand-colored, and hand-cut. Fan book structure with tie closure at the handle/spine. In stiff green paper open-ended envelope. Signed and numbered by the artist. Each book varies slightly because of the handcoloring. Goodale continues her documentation of imperiled fauna with Maine's Alpine Marsh Violet. The viola palustris in Maine is "critically imperiled because of extreme rarity or vulnerability to extirpation."

First Edition; Numbered Issue. One of 140 copies printed on Fedrigoni Vellum (a 190gram, smooth and elegant Italian paper) and handstiched and handbound in hardcovers featuring the red and black letterpress printed paper designed by Elisabeth Hyder and black head- and tail bands. The front cover is impressed with a letterpress printed label. This issue is our 'standard': a collectible, modestly priced finepress first edition. Fine/New.

Boots the Chemist. ND.,(1927). NEW EDITION. 4to (10.1 x 8.1 inches). Sixteen full colour plates, mounted within a black ruled border. Each plate with the title printed below the border. 95 line illustrations throughout, some full page. Previous owners neat name on front blank endpaper otherwise a fine copy in original burgundy cloth with gilt illustrations and lettering to front board and spine. Front board with quadruple ruled black borders, spine ruled in gilt. In the scarce original publshers dustwrapper with colour illustration mounted onto the front panel, below black lettering and four line border. Flaps and other panels lettered in black. Original printed price (15/-) on spine has been blacked out neatly. Aside from a couple of tiny chips to the wrapper this is a beautiful fine example of this well produced edition. Scarce in this condition.:

Text and images were printed using photopolymer plates and reduction linoleum blocks. Fonts are Optima Bold and Gill Sans Light. Handbound in quarter-cloth with cover paper of handmade walnut dyed flax. 3.5 x 3.5" illustration inset of quilted papers, which were designed with the artist's mother.
