Description:
[Tacoma]: N.p., 1920. First edition. 8vo, 20x14cm, [1], 7, [1]pp including covers. Staple bound pamphlet, comic illustrations. Paper toned and brittle, slight vertical crease, lower corner chipped else very good. Small anti-socialist pamphlet written as a series of letters from "Bill" to a fellow worker at a logging camp in 1920. The boss has deceased and left the business to his New York nephew who, having read a few books on labor, decides to hand over the reigns to the workers. Throughout the series of letters, which are accompanied by uncredited comic strip illustrations, the camp deteriorates and folds after just three months. What starts as Camp Douglas, becomes Camp Emancipation, and near the end, Camp Hellfire. "Bill" addresses his letters first to his fellow worker, and finally, to his fellow slave. OCLC locates a single copy, at Yale.
