About This Item

Denver, CO: The Van Noy Inter-State Company, 1922 The Van Noy Inter-State Company, Denver, CO. 1922. Softcover/Trade Wraps. First Edition. Book is tightly stapled, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Fair+; tears at the edge of the wraps at top and bottom; closed tear on front wrap at spine; wear at tips; foxing to pages. No DJ. Printed paper wraps. Wraps are not bent or folded; spine is secure in saddle staples; text is secure in binding. Non-paginated 4to oblong. This is an early souvenir brochure of 40 photographs put out by The Rio Grande Railroad. The Rio Grande was the epitome of mountain railroading, with a motto of Through the Rockies, not around them and later Main line through the Rockies, both referring to the Rocky Mountains. Their emphasis on the views of Colorado and Utah was to help improve ridership to these natural wilderness areas. A clean very presentable representative copy of this album.
