Introduction by editor list of colour plates, glossary, bibliography and index. Photographic endpages showing bottles of red wine resting. The text is illustrated with colour photography and maps. Maroon coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Dark pink coloured tint to the top text block edge Photographic case  being a reproduction of the endpaper photograph, with black coloured titles the front and rear panels. This book was first published in 1962 and this is the 1967 printing. As the title would suggest wines from both the old and new worlds. Rubbing to the book corners with very light age toning of the text block edges and pages. the top right-hand corner of the page 221/222 has become dogeared. The slipcase is in good condition apart from a little rubbing to the lower edge. A little creasing to the dustwrapper edges with rubbing of the panels. Fading to the back strip.
