Profusely illustrated, including over 20 full color plates. Catalog for an 1987 Exhibition of the artist's work at the Augustinermuseum. An extraordinary copy in that the artist has affixed what seems like a white pre-adhesive shipping label onto the title page and then executed an original drawing in charcoal, signed to the lower left corner. "Son of Marguerite Dupont and Célestin Perraudin, shoemaker, Wilfrid Perraudin left with his parents for Paris in 1914. Passionate about insects, he will meet Raoul Dufy who is himself an entomologist . In 1925, he was admitted to the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris in the studio of Raoul Dufy, who had recognized his talent as a draftsman and gave him private lessons. He became a designer in a natural science institute, produced illustrations for children's magazines and produced industrial and technical drawings in Marcel Bloch's factories, while continuing to paint. At the beginning of 1930, Wilfrid Perraudin carried out his military service in the Near East, notably in Lebanon and Syria , without ever having used a weapon. He conducts scientific and entomological research, and meets Robert Beauvais , who becomes a friend. In 1940 , Marcel Bloch's factories were requisitioned and Perraudin was recruited to the STO to work in Germany as a set painter in a German film firm. It is there that he will meet his future wife.
