London: Ward and Lock Very informative book on cookery Contains 398 pages in overall clean condition just the occasional foxing spots to the first and last few pages, few tiny pin holes to title page where previos owner pinned notes, rear endpapers have two marks where something may have been pasted in the past,.there is a hand written sheet of paper loosly laid in at the rear describing a recipe, from look of ink and paper written in the late 1800s, two ink inscriptions in book both dated1863 these are the only dates in the book. Many B/w illustrations,plus a fold out illustration of the kitchen at Windsor Castle, all illustrations present as called for plus very informative text, NO dustwrapper, outer boards are rubbed and worn to edges especially top and bottom of spine, gold decoration dulled on spine the image on front less so and is an attractive decoration see image. Though not perfect still a pleasing example of this book SEE IMAGES.
