London, United Kingdom: Martin Secker, 1931. Originally written under the name of 'The Escaped Cock' The present title was decided upon by the author shortly before his death. This edition is limited to 2000 copies for sale in England and the United States of America. The type has been distributed. A lovely copy bound in classic green cloth with bevelled edges. Rough cut to edges as published. Interior pages remain in excellent condition with no apparent foxing. Housed in the plain cream dustwrapper with green title lettering and vignette to upper panel. Chipped and egdeworn with overall signs of handling commensurate with age but essentially just about a good example. Dustwrapper is now protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. A nice copy.. First Edition. Very Good +/Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. FIRST EDITION.
