Black coloured boards with white illustration, on the lower right-hand corner of the front panel, of a small boy with his hands behind his back, with white writing on the spine. An evocation of growing up in the early part of the 20th century in America. the book is missing the front free end page, and there is foxing to the top edge and front edge of the text block.
