The Book is in Very Good+ condition with mild toning and foxing on the endpapers and paste-downs, a dark spot on the first 4 pages. No writing or other marks. Gilt lettering on front board and spine Bright, no wear. Edges and corners show slight wear. Dust Jacket Very Good+ with small chips, light edge wear, and a red stain on the rear panel, the front is clean. Not price-clipped, "$2.00" on the top front dj flap. No medal or mention of Caldecott Award on the dust jacket. Internally clean with clean boards and clear red top stain. VG+ or better dust jacket. Some minor edgewear and some very small chips. Now in a protective cover, unclipped. An exceptional copy in collectors condition, the 2nd of Shepard's bibliographical works following on Drawn from Memory. Many of Shepard's drawings adorn the pages.
