Still attractive, now protected by clear mylar sleeve. Book is bumped at head and foot of spine, bound in orange cloth in excellent condition. Binding is tight, pages are clean and unmarked. Published in 1944 and printed with wartime paper, pages are slightly darkened. . Book deals with the important question of what should be done for the brave soldiers who return home after a war, perhaps with devastating physical or emotional injuries. Four American wars are considered in depth: the American Revolution, the Civil war, World War One, and the soon-to-be-over World War Two. Fascinating reading and extremely timely. This is the 1944 edition, later printing. . 8vo - 8" to 9" tall. 588 pages. F4 .
