About This Item
New York: McDowell Obolensky, 1958. Hardcover. 8vo. Burgundy cloth, pictorial dust jacket. 396pp. Near fine/very good. Jacket a trifle edgeworn and rubbed. Tight and nice second printing of this author's first book, with a bookplate signed boldly by her tipped to the front flyleaf. Above this bookplate is an ownership inscription: "August 1961 / Property of / Vera Presley." The name of the second wife of Elvis Presley's grandfather was Vera Presley -- but whether the Vera Presley who signed this book is one and the same, we haven't a clue. Just thought it a bizarre if irrelevant point worth noting!
