Paper on rear hinge cracked though board still firmly attached. Illustrated with 30 plates. Ten pages of adverts appended at rear. True stories of bookmaking, gambling, and horse racing at the turn of the century. A nice copy with white lettering on cover beginning to flake and mild age soiling to cloth. Else a good+ to very good copy a of an interesting little book.. First Edition. Pictorial Cloth. Good+/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

With thirty full-page illustrations by an unnamed but barely talented artist. First edition of the self-admitted bookmaker's first book. Light wear to corners and spine ends, otherwise a very nice, bright copy.
