London: Michael Joseph, 1936. No dustwrapper, some wear to spine ends, corners and edges of brown cloth-covered boards, original owner's name on f/ep and on fore-edge, he has also written ''This is a good book'' at the top of chapter one, and ''sleeping'' just below the title on title page. The book has been kept in a box in a shed for quite a while, so does smell a bit, but this should fade eventually. Otherwise a not too bad, tight copy of this not-very-common hard-cover novel, a light story set in Hollywood dealing with a young Englishman trying to find work as a scriptwriter. The author was (or possibly just shares a name with) a British film actor of the 1920s and 1930s. 288pp.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
