About This Item

Boston: Little, Brown, and Company, 1946. This BCE is in Very Good+ condition with a Very Good dust jacket (click on photo). I've placed the dust jacket into an archival Brodart protective sleeve. The book deals with the turbulent marriage of George and Livia Boswell in a small manufacturing town in the Midlands, England, both before and during World War II. The book is bound in a woven blue-green cloth with a gilt author's name against a blue border on both front panel and spine, as well as gilt titles on front panel and spine. The book has top-edge blue stain. The spine cloth is lightly rubbed. The binding is tight and secure, and the text pages are clean and bright throughout. The Very Good dust jacket has some browning on the spine, a tiny circular hole on the spine, and a chip at the spine bottom. Other than that, it's in surprisingly well-preserved condition. The book measures 5 3/4 by 8 1/4 inches and includes 284 pages.. Hard Cover. Very Good+/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
