The Falcon Press, London 1949. 1st Falcon Press edition, first printing. 8vo. The re-issue of the classic lesbian novel first published by Jonathan Cape in 1928 (which had been rejected by several mainstream publishers although not remotely sexually explicit) and which for their temerity Cape suffered the indignity, following an hysterical obscenity trial, of having the book pulped. A clean bright unmarked copy in a near fine unclipped dustwrapper, now with just a touch of wear to the very head of the spine
