WEIRD TALES Club Membership Card - Hannes Bok Card Illustration by Weird Tales / Martin Ware - 1940

USA: USA: Weird Tales Club, NO DATE (circa 1940 ), 1st Edition, 1940. -----------Weird Tales Club membership card, no date but likely circa 1940, a solid Good to Very Good example, some light splashes and soiling to the illustrated side, some fading to the backside which is plain black, card was sent to Robert Morton? / Mortimer ? / Mort?? and signed by the secretary Martyin Ware, ---there are three versions of this card all of which have the same layout, illustration and name lines, -one is black and does not have the number 20 in the address line and is likely the earliest version, there is also a green card version again all in the same format which includes the #20 in the address line, and finally there is this bronze/gold version which shows the #20 in the address line ---priority of these two versions with the #20 is unknown to me ---none of the cards were dated ---all of the cards were signed by the CLUB secretary Martin Ware but of the versions I have seen (online and this one ) Ware's signature is decidedly different on all 3 so it is likely a wife or other CLUB members would sign and mail these off to new members ---all are rare, really quite rare, any image directly beside this listing is the actual item and not a generic photo ///NOT SIGNED ---GUARANTEED to be AVAILABLE/// ---sizes are approximate (generally within 1/8 inch)--- .
