Blue hardcover cloth binding with minor shelfwear and minimal fading to the top edge.The unclipped dustjacket has minimal rubbing to extremities, and a large chip to the rear panel; protected in archival mylar. Contains 124 illustrations, of which 116 are in black-and-white and eight color plates. An authoritative text on the world-famous pottery of Josiah Wedgwood and his successors. A fully representative range of the products of the Wedgwood manufactory between 1754 and 1876. This volume gives due attention to the earliest products, including pineapples and cauliflowers, and the coloured glazes developed during the first five years as a master potter. These rare and beautiful pieces are rarely marked, and are closely related to traditional Staffordshire, and are often passed over without the ability to identify. First edition, 3rd impression..
