The book label reading: "Ex Libris Hardy Amies" denotes that this copy once belonged to the official dressmaker for Queen Elizabeth II, who worked for her from her accession to the throne 1952 until his retirement in 1989. A gift inscription to the title reads: "To: Hardy Amies/ From: Heinemann", the publishers.
