New York: Boni and Liveright, 1922. First Edition, Mixed State. Flexible Boards. Very good +/missing. A very good plus first edition, mixed state in a custom clamshell case. Missing the scarce dust jacket and glassine wrapper. Flexible, thin black boards [early per Gallup A6a] with gilt title-stamping on cover and spine, which is bright and crisp. Binding is sturdy, tight. and square. Front and back covers appear to have been cleaned, leaving a rounded area and toning throughout book edges (dampstaining, see photos). Interesting gift inscription on glassine paper (perhaps a remnant of the original glassine cover) dated Christmas, 1922 is loosely laid into book, establishing this as one of the earliest publications of the work it was first published in book form on December 15, 1922**1922 date on title page and copyright page. Unopened title page. The word mountain is misspelled on page 41, missing the "a" making it later per Gallup. Clamshell case is matching black leatherette with gold title stamping on spine, appears as new. [8] 9-64 pp, Duodecimo, 5 x 7 3/4 inches tall. 1799 Romance of the Rose Lorris Medieval de Meun Flamel Alchemy STUNNING 5v"The more a man gazes on what he loves, the more he sets fire to his heart and bastes it with bacon fat."
― Guillaume de Lorris, The Romance of the Rose
The 'Roman de la Rose' is a famous 13th-century Medieval French poem written as an allegorical dream sequence. It was written by Guillaume de Lorris who sought to express the feelings of romantic love, sexuality, and chivalry. It was completed by Jean de Meung who continued the work begun by Lorris. Thought to be the most widely read book other than the Bible in the 13th- and 14th-centuries, it was highly influential on other authors, notably including Geoffrey Chaucer.
This absolutely stunning
18th-century edition was published in Paris printed in five beautiful vellum-bound volumes. This particular edition is of note, not just for containing the 'Roman de la Rose', but also a preface by Clement Marot, Meung's 'Life of Jean Clopinel', a short treatise on the alchemy of… Read More

Description:
New York: New Directions, 1967. First Edition. Near Fine/Near Fine. Signed limited first edition. One of a limited 110 unnumbered copies signed by Ezra Pound. Printed by Andrew Hoyem and Robert Grabhorn in San Francisco, and bound in publisher's tan linen cloth over blue paper-covered boards with errata slip tipped in at rear; in publisher's unprinted white dust jacket. Near Fine, with lean to spine, covers faintly marked. In a Near Fine dust jacket, lightly soiled and with light edge wear. An early long poem of Pound's, and his first attempt to write poetry using world history, and adding opinions of his own. Originally intended to be published in the 1911 first edition of Canzoni, Pound deemed it too serious, and removed it during the proof stage. It was not until 1967 when the poem was finally published, first in an Australian poetry magazine, then here for the first time in book format in a limitation of 110 copies. There is no equivalent trade edition. Gallup A90.

Straight, tight and clean with no wear or markings in bright, pictorial card covers, no dustjacket as issued. Trumansburg, NY: Out of Step Press. Fine with no dust jacket. 2016. Numbered Edition; First Printing. Pamphlet. The author's non-linear poem about the billeting of soldiers in civilian homes in wartime. Copy 89 of a limited edition of 250. Folded into the form of a letter, the work was letterpress printed in wraps of handmade "combat paper" made from military uniforms. The author says: "Some time ago-maybe a year, maybe two? I had a conversation with some of my Combat Paper brothers (well, the kids call them their combat paper uncles, so it follows

It's a thought experiment: if we tore down the barracks at military hospitals and offered incentives for Americans in the surrounding neighborhoods to quarter injured service members, what would the honest instructions…
