New York: Hebrew Committee for National Liberation, 1944. Pamphlet. 24p. staplebound booklet, 8.5x11 inches, very good. At the bottom is a stamped notice that copies of the publication had been filed with the Department of Justice. Bergson, born Hillel Kook (he changed his name to avoid tainting his relatives with controversy), was a member of the Irgun, the Revisionist Zionist movement's military arm. He came to the United States in 1940 with Vladimir Jabotinsky to urge creation of Jewish military units and advocate for a Jewish state in Palestine. The Hebrew Committee for National Liberation was one of the groups he founded for these purposes. In this piece, he harshly criticizes the Post and mainstream Zionist leaders whom he says have been misled by British intrigues to sabotage the Zionist movement and prevent the settlement of refugees.
