Stated first printing on the copyright page. The original price of $2.50 is still present on the front flap. DJ shows scuffing and wear, mainly to the edges and corners, paper is darkened with some scuff marks. There is also minor chipping to the spine edges. Dark blue cloth boards underneath are clean with only minor edge and corner bumps/wear. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting, no remainder marks. Pages are toned due to age and also the type of paper used, as is book was printed during the wartime.

Here in a series of personal anecdotes, she recalls what she and the people of France endured between 1940 and 1944 during the German Occupation. Boards are clean. Binding is tight.
