Bound in full white linen, the upper board with the short title in gilt, a few small spots and the lower corner slightly bumped. Short gift inscription on ffep: 'F.M.G. with our love H.Bl[?].'. A very good clean copy. ***The author is Leonard Harrison Cripps CBE Major 4th (Queen's own) Hussars, the third son of 1st Baron Parmoor of Frieth (1887-1959). The diary reveals he was wounded near Hollebeke and repatriated to England. .
