London: Macmillan. 1928. Two volumes 8vo. xxviii, 456 & xiv, 457-930pp, [ii]pp publisher's advertisements. Across the two volumes: 16 colour plates, 4 folding maps and a folding diagram, 2 plans and a block diagram (all full-page), 574 illustrations (19 on text pages, the remainder on plates, all but a few photographic). Original green cloth, spines lettered in gilt, the extremities a little rubbed. Top edges gilt, a little dulled, as are the other edges; endpapers with some offsetting and light foxing, the lower corners of the last 100pp or so of the second volume have a bump/crease. A good clean set, collated complete. .
