About This Item
Sweden 1995. From one of Swedens most prominent families, during World War II Raoul Wallenberg was appointed to initiate a rescue operation in Budapest to save Jews from Nazi persecution. In a few months time Wallenberg managed to save 100,000 jews by issuing Swedish protective passports in large quantities. He left the city with a Soviet escort for a meeting with the Russians- a meeting from which he never returned. The Russians claim that he died in a Soviet prison months later. There are, however, reports from many witnesses which suggest that he may have been alive much later., English, Year1995, Illust. B/W1, Illust. Color, ISBN 9152003361, Code 3489.
