Exciting debut by Hugh Montgomery - a former commercial diver and archaeologist. His work on the salvage of the Mary Rose, King Henry VIII's flagship which sank in 1545 was an inspiration for the writing of the Voyage of an Arctic Tern; Montgomery is also world record holder for playing the piano underwater and a working surgical consultant who is credited with the discovery of the 'fitness' gene. The book won both Book of the Year and Poetry Book Of The Year at the David St.John Thomas Charitable Trust Self Publishing Awards for 2000. This is the scarce year 2000 first edition.
