Brown paper-covered boards with printed labels on front boards and spine. Doyle’s preface states that he was asked by the Italian authorities to act as an independent observer to “visit their lines and report his impressions”. He subsequently got British and French access to inspect their lines at the front as well. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 93 pages .
