Time-Life Books, United States of America, 1981. Facsimile -- First Thus. Hardcover. Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. IV, 234pp., last 6 pages advertisements from original book, preface by author. Marble coloured endpapers. Gilt to all paper edges. Brown coloured leather boards with gilt writing on the front panel along with leather work decoration and gilt writing on the spine. Shelfwear to the lower book, edges and there has been some bumping of the top gilt edge. On the front panel, there is a slightly darker area within the leather commensurate with a sticker being placed there. Some rubbing to the back panel. This is a facsimile reprint of the 1866 edition. The full original title page is: -- "The Vigilantes of Montana: Orl Popular Justice in the Rocky Mountains. Being a Correct and Impartial Narrative of the Chase, Trial, Capture and Execution of Henry Plummer's Road Agent Band, Together with Accounts of the Lives and Crimes of Many of the Robbers and Desperadoes, the Whole Being Interspersed with Sketches of Life in the Mining Camps of the "Far West"; Forming the Only Reliable Work on the Subject Ever Offered to the Public."
