Pages clean and binding tight. 503 pages, top edge gilt, other edges uncut. Brief pencil marginalia. Good reference copy of a classic historical work first published in 1818.

Water staining to gutters to first few pages, text remains unaffected. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Area of loss to top of spine with tears to leather. Staining to front board.
