There is light fading to the back strip and to both top edges of the book panels. Some flecking to the top edges of the book. A few marks to the book cloth, but remarkably clean for its age. Heavy Browning and foxing to the text block edges. A previous owner has made a very light notation, in pink, too that the front end paper. Browning and foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book but there is scattered like foxing throughout the book and browning of the text. the author, Vespaniano Da Bisticci, was a Venetian bookseller who lived between 1421 to 1498 and during years lifetime he gathered details, gossip and remarkable events about his contemporary famous people. Included in this book are the lives of popes and rulers, cardinals, archbishops and bishops, statesmen and writers. Translated by William George and Emily Waters. This is the first UK edition.
