The spine is creased with tears to the head & tail & the front wrap is partially detached. There is a small stain to the tail of the spine & the adjacent corner of the rear wrap. 275 & [3] pages plus colophon. Black-and-white frontispiece & full-page black-and-white illustrations. The pages are toned & the rear endpaper is nearly detached. Fair. <p>First edition in French.<p>From the library of arts consultant and mountain climber George Alan Smith with his signature on the front endpaper and a few of his pencil markings in the text. The text is in French.
