Toronto: Ryerson 1942, 1st Canadian Edition. (Hardcover) 396pp. Very good, no dust jacket. Blue cloth with yellow titles. Light wear at the tips of the corners and the top and bottom ends of the spine, a previous owner's inscription on the front endpaper, some stains on a few pages and edges, the untrimmed fore-edges show wear, a few pages have dog-ear creases, and on close inspection one can see that the back inner hinge has been repaired from the inside. In a mylar jacket. (Fiction, Canadian, Juvenile).

Winnipeg: Brandow Publishing Co. 1914. (Small 4to) 224pp. Very good, no dust jacket. Olive cloth with oval pastedown illustration and gilt lettering. Black and white and color illustrations, recipes, household tips, local advertisements. The covers are lightly worn and the gilt lettering is rubbed. Locale: Manitoba; Prairie Provinces; Western Canada; Winnipeg--Manitoba. (Manitoba, Cookbooks, Household).

West Hartford: Countryman Press, 1945. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Carl Rungius. One of 1275 copies of which 1250 were numbered. This is one of the numbered copies. INSCRIBED, SIGNED and dated 1946 by Carl Rungius on the blank FFEP and SIGNED by Schaldach, the author, on the same page. Copies signed by Rungius are very uncommon. Very good condition with slight fraying spine ends, usual light browning of pages, very tips lower corners rubbed, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages other than the signed inscription and author signature. Original slipcase has 1cm deep loss of cover paper at spine ends, complete cover labels (front and back) that are not chipped, some splitting along one spine edge but connections holding well. SIGNED Name only on title page which is the front end page. Book Near Fine/Tight Binding but has rubbed corners. Wrapper VG, has some wear.

FIRST EDITION, solidly bound in green with four-colour illistration to front and gilt to spine. Book probably grades Very Good for age but has a corner bump you see on scan. Top and bottom of spine have the usual wrinkles, but other wise the book has no substantial defects. The frontis still has the full tissue-protection. All 20 plates are presnt and correct with no defects. General mild toning. Overall dull looking
