London: John Hinton At the Kings Arms. Fair. 1760. Leather. Rebound in Leather monthly periodicals dated Jan to June 1760. Good condition save for front cover and ffep are detached, balance of text block is attached. Spine and front cover appear burned at bottom corner. Contents include everything from the price of stocks to the History of the County of Sussex, births in notable families, appointment of sheriffs, foreign and domestic news, and even music and poetry. Notable engravings with three fold out illustrations, including a colored print of the Parts of Sweden, Russia, Germany, Poland and Denmark bordering on the Baltic Sea (exhibiting the present seat of war between these several powers) , Plan of the Battle of Tonhausen, and, A View of (? ) Mylnes' elegant Design of a New Bridge to be built from Black Fryars, (illustration is 20 inches wide). List of cuts in the back for Binders indicates 17 total cuts, including the fold outs, but 6 are missing from this volume. ; 8.40 X 5.25 X 1.25 inches .

Rare original poetry book with cloth covered boards, copyright 1880 by J. W. Shoemaker & Co. This edition published in 1906 by the Penn Publishing company, Philadelphia. From the estate of my great-great grandfather.Includes many unique poems and recitations such as "To a skull", "Uncle Daniel's Introduction to a Mississippi Steamer", "The Leak in the Dyke", etc. More well-known poetry includes "Song of Birds", "Old Ironsides", and "Bannock Burn" by Robbie Burns. Light rubbing and bumps to outside spine edges. Back cover and interior cloth covered board has a stain at top. Original owner's name and address from 1908, but no other writing or marks. First 2 pages have a stain at top, but text of 192 pages of poetry and recitations is totally clean with light tanning of pages.
