London: George Harrap, 1928. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/very good. First printing. Hardcover in red cloth lettered and decorated in gilt. Map endpapers. 318 pp. with bibliography, index. Profusely illustrated with photogrphic plates. Very good, bit of wear at the extremities. In very good dust wrapper, shallow minor wear at the spine extremities and a very short closed tear top edge of front panel. The author began his travels in the provinces of France in 1921, ignoring the routes established by touring agencies and exploring smaller, out of the places such as Moissac, Conques, Souvigny, Saint-Salvin, Angouleme, and Moulins.
